FRP is an excellent insulation material because of its low heat transmission that maintains the temperature better than thermoplastics. It is possible to increase its heat-retention capacity through an insulation process, in which FRP or other materials are covered with a thermal insulation material that helps them to maintain the temperature.

POLYURETHANE FOAM

Expanded polyurethane foam is one of the best materials used for thermal insulation. It can be injected, directly applied or performed to cover the surface to be insulated.

An FRP exterior coat is applied to finish this type of insulation, in order to provide mechanical resistance to humidity, impacts, abrasion and ultraviolet light.

MAIN ADVANTAGES
Reduces energy consumption in refrigeration and heating systems.
Absorbs vibration.
Increase the structural rigidity of the coated surface.
Acoustic insulation.
Controls the dilatation level of concrete buildings and structures.
Maximum adherence, regardless of the shape or position of the coated pieces.
MAIN APPLICATIONS

THERMAL INSULATION

Because the foam gas encapsulated in polyurethane has an extremely low thermal conductivity, this material is worldwide known and used as thermal insulation.

SEALANT

A less known application of expanded polyurethane is used as an impermeable sealant for structures that are in contact with water.

ANTI-CONDENSATE

Polyurethane can also be used as an anti-condensate, forming a seamless coating over a surface with condensation problems. Additionally, it is applied in the manufactured of floating devices, hatch seals, joints, portholes, etc.
