Besides the most known applications, such as corrugated, flat or with a special shape sheets, that are used for enclosures and coverings (roofs), FRP has multiple applications that are compatible with architectonic design and civil engineering.

FRP makes smooth-flowing lines possible, that’s why it is ideal for special design where the esthetical aspect plays an important role.

The color is incorporated in the product with additives that block ultraviolet rays and paraffin-like substances.

As far as painting is concerned, it doesn’t need any maintenance because of its smooth finish which means longer useful life with a lower maintenance cost.

For this reason and the fact that it is translucent, FRP is an ideal material for domes, vaults and skylights, where luminosity is required without transparency.

The manufacture of FRP formwork for laying smooth concrete is a well known application. Since it is resistant to corrosion due to humidity, it can be used more often than wood formwork. Also it is smooth, so a better finishing for concrete can be obtained. Its light weight makes it easy to handle and transport. Finally, its weather resistance makes its storage easier in any climate.
