Storage, transport and reactor tanks manufactured entirely in FRP are specially designed to hold a large variety of highly corrosive solutions with a wide range of last generation resins.
The tanks and reactors are manufactured at LEPSA’s plant (Lima) up to 400 m3 capacity and Ø 6.00 m. The tanks of larger diameters and capacities (up to 5000 m3) are fabricated mobilizing the machinery to the Job Site.
The cylindrical tanks are manufactured with a maximum diameter of 8.5Ø, using the Filament Winding System (ASTM D 3299), although greater diameters can be obtained using other modular systems and a Filament Winding Vertical machine.
The tanks manufactured by LEPSA
can be used in all types of industries,
such as:
Mining
Paper
Smelting
Fishing
Refining
Aquaculture
Petroleum
Farming and Ranching
Pretrochemical
Food
Chemical
Construction,
etc.
These tanks can have different shapes, which are recommended based on their application, their location and the space available for their installation. They can be cylindrical (vertical and horizontal), rectangular, conical, transport cisterns, process reactors, etc.
Tanks manufactured by LEPSA count with the highest technology and over 25 years of experience together with our international technical consultants. We carry out a meticulous calculation, design and manufacturing process, applying ASTM and ASME RTP-1 standards.
The mechanical efforts and chemical attack, which the tank will be subjected to are evaluated, as well as its interaction with other elements (agitators, mixers, chillers, coils, etc.) specifying the structural reinforcements and resins for each case, supporting temperatures above 100 º C depending on the solution they’ll store.

CHARACTERISTICS
AND ADVANTAGES
.
FRP tanks’ measurements do not change over time. In contrast with thermoplastic materials (PVC, HDPE, PP), they don’t loss mechanical properties and become fragile or deformed due to sudden changes in temperature.
They are lightweight because their specific weight (approx. 1600 Kg/m3) is much lower than the traditional materials, carbon steel and stainless steel.
On-site construction: If the project requires tanks that, due to their size, would be unpractical to transport from the plant, LEPSA is prepared to send qualified personnel as well as equipment and machinery to the project location in order to build the tanks required on-site.
No
maintenance: they do not need sandblasting, painting
or any type of special maintenance,
due to their being resistant to rust
and humidity.
Thermal insulation: FRP material conducts heat 50 to 150 times less than stainless steel or carbon steel.
The completely smooth interior surface protects from incrustations, fungus, bacteria and microorganisms adherences.
They do not become impregnated with, or give off, odors or absorb flavors, which allow them to be used for almost any purpose, including food storage.
The color is incorporated in the structure, with additives resistant to ultraviolet rays and paraffin-like substances.
